Before introducing the display into your aquarium, rinse all surfaces with a strong stream of cold water. Let the piece dry for at least twenty minutes and repeat.

This will remove the fine dust that occurs from the firing process. The dust particles are very fine and if not removed can cause unusually high counts of calcium, magnesium and silica to go into solution.

If the display is being placed in an aquarium that already has live animals in it, you must repeat the rinse and dry process once or twice more to prevent the oxides from calcium and magnesium from raising the pH value of the water
